This is the story of a bride and groom-to-be who are planning a destination wedding on the island of Aruba. We’ve put so much work into our research and find ourselves thinking this could be so much easier, if only we could know the stories of others like us. Well, maybe there are others like us that would like to know our story (or share their with us!). While we will protect the identities of those involved (at least until our wedding is done) we’ll share with you the up and downs, the setbacks and breakthroughs.
What kind of bride am I? Well I’m not the girl that dreamed of the “barefoot on the beach” wedding. I’m more the girl that loves my 4″ heels and a designer gown but didn’t want to get caught up in a complicated wedding. We decided an intimate destination wedding was just the thing for us. After all, even a city girl like me can’t help but love the Caribbean! We want a wedding that is relaxed and comfortable but still sophisticated and chic without breaking our bank accounts. When I think beach wedding I think tiki torches, steel drum music, tropical cocktails, draped white fabric, contemporary lanterns glowing with candle light, swanky lounge seating near the dance floor… How close will we get to this vision I have? I don’t know. Within a single day we can go from being very optimistic to quite discouraged and the other way around. Still, I know in the end this will all be worth it.
And the photo in the header – is that me? I wish! No, its my inspiration to unload the planning stress at the gym so I will be that girl by the time the wedding gets here!
