I am home! Just Returned from Aruba!

I have finally arrived home from a phenomenal week in Aruba. Each day was really a blur but I’ll have a lot to tell you about once I recover! Luckily I’ll have mostly wonderful news to report! I’ll also be sharing detailed reviews of our venue and vendors as well as tell you about other activites we and our guests participated in. And of course, I’m hoping to have photos to share soon. Its just a matter of sorting through them all. I want to thank all of those who have offered their support through this blog! I can’t tell you what a help it was.

So what will happen once my reviews are wrapped up? Well I’ll try to keep my eye out and pass along other information I think you might be interested in. Also, I’d love to ‘pass the torch’ to another bride that is going through the process of planning her Aruba wedding. I can’t tell you how wonderful it has been to meet other brides – they have been a tremendous resource to me. If you’d like to become a ‘guest blogger’ here on this site, please let me know. I’m looking for those that can as objectively as possible, share their experiences. That will continue to share the ups and downs and little tidbits you learn about Aruba along the way.

  • Thanks for all your information! I have loved following your wedding. Also reading about how much fun you had at your wedding, is totally getting me amped up for mine. When you unwind and have time to write things out, would you mind blogging about your trash the dress session? I want to do one, but I’m not really sure how to go about doing it. I have a photographer that is more than excited about doing it but has never done one before and has never been to Aruba. Would you mind including where to go and how best to get there? Thanks!!!

  • Thanks so much Mindy! I will definitely be blogging about the TTD session. It was so much fun. It will be a while before I have any photos, but I’ll definitely write about the experience as soon as I get caught up! A great place to go is the Bushiribana Ruins. Check out Scott Hayne’s shoot at those ruins – OMG! Unfortunately we had asked a concierge for directions and they sent us to the wrong place. We still may have gotten some good photos and were glad we still had time to hit Eagle Beach in front of Bucuti to get her wet! (2+ days on the balcony and its still isn’t totally dry!) We wouldn’t have had time to go to Bushiribana and make it back to the beach in the timeframe we wanted to work in.

Eagle Beach is really great for water photos. The north side of the island is cool too, over by the natural pool, but that side of the island is rocky and you need a jeep to get there. So, if you want to the drama of the north side AND want to get into the water, you’ll need half a day. Bushiribana has water nearby but you can’t get in it so again, if you want to do those ruins and water you need at least 3 hours. We only had two hours because the window of the best light is really only about an hour or two around sunrise or sunset.

  • Welcome back! I can’t believe it’s been a week already since your wedding!! I can’t wait to hear more about your wedding. Thanks so much for all your detailed posts :)

  • Thanks so much! I’ll probably post more detail than anyone cares to read, but I figure better to let you figure out which parts are helpful!

  • First of all, Congratulations to you and your new husband!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for opening up your life these past few months to the rest of us to share the highs and lows of planning your wedding. When it’s all said and done, the most important thing to remember is that you are married and now a MRS.!! Thanks for all of your reviews, opinons, resources…EVERYTHING!! I cannot wait until April when it will be my turn to walk down the soft sand of Aruba to my future husband. Everything sounds like it was amazing (as I knew it would be). I know that you worked VERY hard to make this day the wedding of your dreams :-) Time has flown by, I still cannot believe it has been a week already. Rest up and I can’t wait to see more photos of your special day! Be well :-)

  • Thank you so much! I’m finally getting settled back in and hope to catch up on the reviews soon. Thanks for your support – you were a great help when I needed it. (Guys just don’t quite ‘get’ some things.) While there was a lot of stress at times, it was totally worth it – we had the time of our lives and are just in awe of how well everything came together.
